After two grueling years of combating undead hordes worldwide during the Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War era, the CIA-backed Requiem team ultimately succeeded in sealing the final dimensional portal, banishing its horrific inhabitants back to the tormented realm known as the Dark Aether.

However, victory came at a staggering cost. Agent Samantha Maxis made the ultimate sacrifice, sealing the twisted dimension from within. Unfortunately, the aftermath was grim, as Requiem's senior officials found themselves unjustly imprisoned by the Project Director—revealed to be none other than Edward Richtofen.

Set more than five years later, Black Ops 6 Zombies continues to unravel the Dark Aether saga, delving deeper into the fates of pivotal characters while shedding light on Richtofen’s enigmatic motives.

During the intervening years, former Requiem members—Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, Elizabeth Grey, Oskar Strauss, and Stoney Maddox (better known as Raptor One)—have endured confinement at a secluded facility known as Terminus, a shadowy stronghold situated in the Philippine Sea.

Operators and Handlers: Meet the Terminus Team

Grigori Weaver, a seasoned veteran of the Call of Duty: Black Ops narrative, is well-acquainted with the morally ambiguous nature of warfare. Despite the weight of guilt for perceived shortcomings as team commander, he is resolute in exposing his former Director’s treachery—whatever the cost. He’s done with the political games and is ready to dismantle the corrupt structure that led them to this predicament.

Elizabeth Grey has transformed from the naive scientist thrilled to work with Requiem into a formidable force, hardened by the loss of Samantha Maxis and fueled by the injustice of her imprisonment. Under Carver’s mentorship, she’s now more than capable of confronting any adversary that crosses her path.

Mac Carver’s unwavering belief in the military and his esteemed career have been shattered, but he remains steadfast and dedicated to his comrades. Far from bitter, he believes that with resilience, they can rectify the grievous injustices they have suffered.

Oskar Strauss has not fared well under the harsh conditions of imprisonment. His age and eccentricities have rendered him increasingly reliant on his teammates—not just for survival but for his sanity as well.

Things take a dramatic turn with the arrival of Maya Aguinaldo, a young Filipina smuggler on a personal mission to uncover the truth behind her brother's disappearance. Accompanying her is a familiar face—Dr. William Peck—who is far from welcome in the eyes of our heroes.

Aetheric Incursions: The Outpost Overrun

Aguinaldo and Peck’s unexpected arrival coincides with Terminus Island becoming the epicenter of yet another outbreak. As chaos ensues, tensions rise.

Yet, the turmoil on Terminus isn’t the only consequence of the Dark Aether’s reach. Across the globe, Liberty Falls, a town in West Virginia, grapples with its own zombie crisis.

Despite personal grievances and suspicions, this diverse group of seasoned warriors has no choice but to unite in the face of impending doom.
